Your happy horse stables checklist
It might sound strange to put "happy horse" and "stables" in the same sentence as, ideally, we would all want horses to be running around in acres and acres of land.
Unfortunately, many of us live in places that have limited space. But we still want our horses to be as comfortable and as "happy" as possible.
Ensuring your horse's well being in the stables will give you a horse much more apt to work with you over many, many years. It will also save you a lot of injuries, colics and behavioural issues and therefore save on vet bills too!
In this list, I have put together some of the key things that will make a BIG DIFFERENCE to a horse's life inside and around the stables. While these guidelines can apply to any stables, these are specifically useful for people who, like us, live in countries where you keep horses in farms you don't necessarily own. Cost, and ability to take your infrastructure with you are therefore key.
This list is designed as a checklist. You can print it out and keep it at your stables to refer to it on a daily basis.
